Week 1: The Good and the Bad

Good:  The FSU / Miami game
Reminds me of the nineties when these two rivals used to just go after each other.  It was probably the best game of the week, and certainly a marked improvement from the snooze fest we've come to expect from the two programs the last few seasons.  Both teams played very clean good ball.  Don't be surprised by a rematch in the ACC Title game.

Bad:  ESPN's lead in music
Seriously?  Is Queer-Eye for the Straight Guy choosing the football lead in music or what?  C'mon guys, its a little hard to get pumped up for football listening to Kenny Chesney and Dave Mathews.  But what do you expect from a sports network that actually gave Jesse "the Bachelor" Palmer a job as a football analyst.  Stick to picking beautiful babes Jesse, and leave the football to guys who wear ties past their belly-button.  Wait a minute...is Jesse picking the lead in music?  Its all beginning to make sense.

Good: BYU
Wow!  Come on out and shock the world.  And just about kill my wife.  She had 15 points on OU.  I only had 3.  hehehehe.

Bad: Sam Bradford's injury
Yeah, I don't need to dwell on that.

Good:  Northern Iowa
Too bad they couldn't pull the upset against Iowa.  But seriously guys, you can't let 'em block two field goals in a row.  C'mon!  Then again, I would have lost my ass with 14 on Iowa.  My wife only had 4 on Iowa and was expecting the big upset. heheheheheh.

Bad: The Big Ten
They looked awful.  Yeah I know they won most of their games, but no one in the whole freakin' conference played a Top 25 team.   And two of the Big Ten's Top 25 teams almost lost to nothing programs.  I mean seriously Iowa?  Northern Iowa is a I-AA school!  meanwhile all the PSU fans on Play Pick'em think that Penn State just showed the world, with their big win over high calibre Akron.  Yeah call me when Penn State beats a real school.  Oh wait a minute, they don't play one this year.

Good: Florida
Of course even Iowa could look good against Charleston Southern.  Well maybe not Iowa, but certainly Ohio State.  I mean the school only has 3,200 students.  UF has that many people in a Freshman psych class.

Bad: Florida's Big Ten like weak-ass schedule
OK, so its not like Penn State weak.  But it is Ohio State weak.  Well almost, I mean they do play a conference championship.  Anyway, the point is that the Gators have probably the easiest schedule they've had in decades, if not ever.  Which is still tougher than damn near all of the Big Ten, I'll admit it.

Good:  Oklohoma State's win over Georgia
While the Dawgs shut them down pretty well in the first three quarters, they ended the game strong, whuppin' that Georgia ass red and black.

Bad:  The Bulldog offense
While I have to give the Georiga 'D' props for holding back a very good OSU offense for three quarters, the Georiga offense just looked terrible.  i've seen JV offenses that didn't suck that much ass.  Yeah I know they lost their starting QB and RB, but they suppossedly have a strong backfield and Cox was the starting QB before Stafford.  I mean the guys a freakin' fifth year senior.  Has he learned nothing in the last four years?  Georgia has a pretty tough schedule this year and I have a feeling its going to be a long season for Mark Richt and the Dawgs.

Good:  Boise State
Wow, upsetting the Ducks again.  You go Boise!

Bad:  LeGarrette Blount
Yeah, you know what happened.
