USC is in a position it rarely finds itself...Quarterback problems.   Starting QB Aaron Corp will sit the first couple of weeks out with a knee injury, while freshman Matt Barkley takes over.  But if you think that means the Trojans will be weak on offense think again.  Besides having returning starters in almost every other offensive position, many people thought Barkley should have been the starter anyway.  And just in case the Freshman can't quite handle the pressure, veteran Mitch Mustain will be there to take over.  Mustain faced some of the toughest defenses in the country while playing at Arkansas.  But, even though USC doesn't really have big concerns at QB (they have three QBs that would start at most schools), that position will not live up to the hype of yesteryear.  None of them are Lienart '05 yet.  So to much of the country it will certainly appear as if they are suffering at QB.  And to the Trojan faithful watching their talented yet inexperienced starter might get a little painful, especially in the first couple of games.

But the real question for USC will be the defense where the Trojans only return three starters.  That could really hurt the team as the Trojans had the second highest ranked defense in the nation last year.  With a questionable defense and a young QB, the Buckeyes might actually have a shot at revenge on their own turf when the Trojans come to town in the second game of the season.   In fact USC has one of the toughest road seasons its had in while playing Ohio State, Cal, Notre Dame, and Oregon away.  With such an inexperienced defense and QB don't be surprised to see USC drop a couple of games this year.
