Texas: Season Preview

Colt McCoy will be back in the Heisman race as well as the National Title race leading a group of Longhorns that might just be the best team in the country.  The Longhorns have 16 returning starters from a team that went 12-1 last season and many argue should have played Florida in the BCS Title Game.

While the offense should be on fire this season, and the secondary should be a wall, the Longhorns could be weaker in their defensive front than last year when they led the nation in sacks.  Overall their defense should still be pretty stout, and they'll need it to beat some of the offensive machines they'll play this year.

while some have complained about its out of conference line-up, Texas actually faces another tough schedule.  The Longhorns have to go up against an Oklahoma Sooner team led by Heisman winner Sam Bradford that will rank among the best in the country, and on the road against an Oklahoma State team that is returning 8 starters from a offense that was ranked 9th in the country last year.

Coach Brown should also be on the lookout for possible upsets against Texas Tech, at Missouri, Kansas, and at Texas A&M.
