Florida: Season Preview
Win 2 Tickets to the BCS Championship Game by winning College Football Pick'em!
The 2008 National Champion Florida Gators are looking to play for the BCS title again this year. They return 7 starters on offense, including Heisman winner Tim Tebow, and all 11 defensive starters from a defense that was 4th in the nation last season. The only real question for the team will be at receiver where Florida lost both Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy. The impact of the loss of Harvin should not be underestimated, but it should not destroy the team's chances for another spectacular year.
Florida starts the season out light with home games against Charleston Southern on September 5th and then Troy on September 12th. The biggest threat to the Gators will be a road trip to LSU on October 10th, but if they can pull off the win in Baton Rouge, they should go undefeated until they reach the SEC Championship Game where they will most likely play LSU again, or a formidable Alabama looking for revenge.
Even though LSU is really the only serious regular season threat for the Gators, coach Meyer should still be on his toes with possible upsets from Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, and South Carolina.
