Yanks' Burnett suspended 6 games, appeals

New York Yankees' pitcher A.J. Burnett has been suspended for six games for throwing a "high-and-tight" to Nelson Cruz in the Yankees game against Texas, the Associated Press is reporting.  Burnett, however, can continue to pitch until his appeal is heard.

"Burnett said it was the first time he’d been suspended. He seemed a bit surprised by the severity, and said his first reaction when told was: 'Really?'” according to the AP's Ben Walker.

The pitch came after both teams had been warned after Texas' Padilla hit Yankee Teixiera twice.
